Dhampus Sarangkot Trek is an easy and leisurely trek in Nepal. It is ideal for those who want to enjoy beautiful mountain vistas and local culture in Nepali villages, but are not ready for strenuous trekking. This trail takes you through lowland and lush jungles with amazing views of the Annapurna range in the background. This trek is the best way to spend a nice family holiday.

It is a 3-day journey from the Pokhara valley. In this short trek in the Annapurna region, you will get to explore many things in a short period of time, including Sarangkot - world-famous vantage point for sunrise views. The Dhampus village is full of lush terraced farmlands, community villages and panoramic view of mountains. Apart from these 2 spots, there are lots of wonderful places along the way. During the trek, you will get an amazing view of mountains such as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Nilgiri, Himchuli, Shingachuli, and many other peaks. 

The exploration of Kathmandu and Pokhara is also included in our Dhampus Sarangkot trekking package. During your stay in Pokhara and Kathmandu, you will visit many historically and culturally significant places and many beautiful lakes and caves in Pokhara. The Dhampus Sarangkot trek itinerary is designed in such a way that, you will make the best out of these 8 days of this trip journey.

Itineraries

First Day

Day 1:Arrival at Kathmandu

• Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel
• Altitude: 1345 m
You will land at Kathmandu airport and our representatives will already be there to pick you up. After that, you will be taken to a 3-star hotel, where you can rest, freshen up and drop your luggage. You can stroll around the streets of Thamel and nearby sites. In the evening, you can enjoy new food, go to bars, spas, etc.

Second Day

Day 2:Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley

• Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel
• Altitude: 1345 m
Waking up in your hotel, you will have your breakfast and get ready for sightseeing in the city of temples. You will be taken to 5 UNESCO world heritage sites and our guides will tell you stories and myths related to each of them. You will also get to explore different temples, gumbas, and other cultural sites. After the sightseeing, you can either return to your hotel or go out for different activities.

Third Day

Day 3:Drive/Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara

• Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel
• Trek Hours: 6-7 hours
• Altitude: 820 m
• Private Vehicle
You will take a bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 6-7 hours. During this ride, you will see different villages, green forests and beautiful landscapes. After reaching Pokhara, you will check into a 3-star hotel. If you aren’t tired after your long drive, you can go visit this amazing city or you can rest in your hotel. In the evening, you can go out and try new food and live music, go to spas, bars, etc.

Fourth Day

Day 4:Drive to Phedi and trek to Dhampus

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 3-4 hours
• Altitude: 1650 m
• Private Vehicle
You will have your breakfast in the city and ride to Phedi. We will board a private vehicle to take you there. Your trekking starts from Phedi as you walk uphill to Dhampus. You will walk past beautiful rice fields and green forests. You will pass through a few settlements to get to Dhampus which takes about 3-4 hours. You will stay overnight at Dhampus enjoying the serene environment.

Fifth Day

Day 5:Trek to Sarangkot

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 4-5 hours
• Altitude: 1592 m
You will have breakfast early in the morning at Dhampus and start your trek to Sarangkot. You will ascend the gentle trail crossing the rice paddies. You will have wonderful views of the landscapes accompanied by a beautiful mountain range on the horizon. Sarangkot is one of the most beautiful vantage points of Nepal. You will have a mesmerizing view of Annapurna (8,091 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Ganesh Himal (7,446 m), Manaslu (8,165 m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m.) and numerous other mountains. You can catch the wonderful glimpse of the Pokhara city. If you happen to reach there at the time of sunset, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset from there.

Sixth Day

Day 6:Trek to bank of Phewa lake and Sightseeing in Pokhara

• Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel
• Altitude: 820 m
Waking up in Sarangkot, you will descend and move towards Phewa lake. After reaching, you can go boating and visit Tal Barahi Temple. Then, you can go out to visit beautiful places, lakes, caves, temples, etc. Pokhara is famous for Begnas and Phewa lake, Mahendra and Bat cave, Tal Barahi temple, Devi’s Fall and amazing views you can get from there. Pokhara also offers restaurants, bars, spas where you can go and enjoy yourself. You will stay there overnight.

Seventh Day

Day 7:Drive or Fly back to Kathmandu

• Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel
• Trek Hours: 6-7 hours
• Altitude: 1345 m
• Private Vehicle
After completing your trek and exploration of Pokhara city, you will ride or fly back to Kathmandu. If you happen to ride, it takes about 6-7 hours. During this scenic ride, you will ride along the river most of the time enjoying the beautiful river valley, green forests and landscapes. You will cross many sub-urban areas along the way. Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, you can stroll around the streets of Thamel. You can shop souvenirs and handicrafts. You can go to bars, lounges and cafes to explore the foods and music. You will stay overnight at a three-star hotel.

Eighth Day

Day 8:Departure

Your trip will conclude here. We will drive you to the airport for your connecting flight to the next destination. We will wish you goodbye there. However, if you decide to stay in Nepal or go for another trip somewhere in Nepal, you can inform us. We can help you decide your next destination in Nepal if you are planning to go for it. We provide you with unbiased information regarding all the packages available in Nepal.

Yes, you can do this trek even if you haven't trekked before. It is one of the easiest treks you can do in Nepal. If you have been involved in general fitness exercises before, the trek will be easy for you.

No, as you will not be trekking to the altitude higher than 3000 m which is altitude sickness, there is no risk of altitude sickness.
