This is one of the most famous treks in the Himalayas, taking you to the foot of the 10th highest mountain in the world. Starting from Pokhara makes this trip cost-effective. Each step leads to the photogenic beauty of villages, rhododendron forests, rivers, and waterfalls. Views of mountains that welcome you since the beginning of the trek seem to get bigger and clearer moving further. Tea houses run by local people make staying in this rural and remote area comfortable. Staying with locals is also a great opportunity to learn about the isolated and preserved culture of the Gurung and Magar community.

Hiking inside the Annapurna Conservation Area also means a possible encounter with rare wild animals like the snow leopard, musk deer, and many more species. Itineraries

First Day

Day 1:Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Jhinu Danda

• Altitude: 1780 m
Having breakfast at Pokhara, you will have a scenic ride of almost an hour to Nayapul. Your trekking journey starts from here as you walk towards Jhinu Danda. You will ascend the gentle slope passing through rhododendron and oak forests by the side of Modi Khola. Many rice fields and terraces can also be seen along the way. You can see the Himalayan range on the backdrop. Walking for about 6-7 hours, you will reach Jhinu danda. You will spend the night at a tea house at Jhinu.

Second Day

Day 2:Trek from Jhinu to Sinuwa

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 4-5 hour
• Altitude: 2360 m
From Jhinu Danda you will follow the gentle downward slope to Chhomrong Khola and ascend to Kuldighar. You will pass through rhododendron, oak and pine forests along the way. Ascending further for about 2 hours, you will get to Sinuwa village. You can explore the village and enjoy the view of the rest of the day. You will stay overnight in a tea house at Sinuwa.

Third Day

Day 3:Trek from Sinuwa to Deurali

• Trek Hours: 5-6 hours
• Altitude: 3230 m
We will ascend the steady slope from Sinuwa crossing the bamboo forest packed with oak pine and rhododendron. Ascending further, you will reach Hotel Himalaya which rewards you with the scenic view of the mountains, glacier river, and the forest. Climbing the steady slope further, you will reach Deurali. From here, you will get a spectacular panorama of the Annapurna range. This region lacks vegetation because of the harsh climate but it offers a wonderful view of the valleys, rivers, and waterfalls.

Fourth Day

Day 4:Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp

• Trek Hours: 7-8 hours
• Altitude: 4130 m
On this day, you will finally reach your destination. After an easy ascent across the river and climbing a steep slope, you will walk continue walking uphill to Bagar and further to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. After reaching, outstanding views of mountains like Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III Gandharva, and Gangapurna Chuli. After another 2 hours of uphill climbing, you will reach Annapurna Base Camp, at the foot of Mt. Annapurna. The views you can get from there makes you feel accomplished as you enjoy your moments with nature. You can see mountains like Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli in front of your eyes. You can spend your night stargazing, talking with fellow-travelers and locals or just resting.

Fifth Day

Day 5:Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo

• Trek Hours: 6-7 hours
• Altitude: 2310 m
After staying overnight at Annapurna Base Camp, you wake of early in the morning to witness the beautiful sunrise view. You will then return to Bamboo village following the same trail as before. You will descend downhill enjoying the serene surroundings and mountains. Following this relaxing downhill trek for about 6-7 hours, you will get to Bamboo village. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the surrounding in Bamboo. You will stay overnight at a tea house there.

Sixth Day

Day 6:Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 5-6 hours
• Altitude: 1780 m
After having breakfast at Bamboo, you will set off for Jhinu danda. You will ascend to Kuldi Ghar following the trail covered with rhododendron, oak, and bamboo forest. Following the trail, you will descend downhill to Chhomrong Khola and climb steep stairs to get to Chhomrong village. From Chhomrong village, we will trek to Jhinu Danda. After relaxing for a while, you will then walk about 20 minutes to get to the hot springs. You can enjoy the sauna-like experience in these hot springs and stay overnight at a tea house in Jhinu Danda.

Seventh Day

Day 7:Trek from Jhinu to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

• Trek Hours: 6-7 hours
• Private Vehicle
On the last day of this trek, you will return to Pokhara on a private vehicle from Nayapul. To reach Nayapul, you will follow a zig-zag path to get to Jhinu Danda first. Then, you will walk through terraces of Syauli Bazar and finally reach Nayapul.

Tourist bus from Kathmandu takes about 7-8 hours to reach Pokhara and costs you from 10 to 25 USD depending on services like AC and wifi. A private car or jeep from Kathmandu to Pokhara costs around 150 USD shared with a maximum of 4 people. A domestic flight will take you to Pokhara from Kathmandu in about 25 minutes and costs 125 USD (for non-Nepalese travellers).

Regular Annapurna Base Camp trek starts from Kathmandu with accommodation for Kathmandu and Pokhara included. All land transportation required along the trek is also included. But, if you are already in Pokhara or if you want to take care of everything by yourself and just want us to manage the trek for you, 7 days Annapurna Base Camp trek is perfect for you. This trek starts as our representative picks you up from your hotel in Pokhara and ends after dropping you to the same place.

Pokhara has many wonderful things to offer. At the city famously known as Lake City, you can boat on beautiful Phewa, Begnas and other lakes. You can also explore caves such as Mahendra Cave and Bat Cave and temples like Tal Barahi Temple and Bindhyabasini Temple. Sarangkot is just a few minute's drives away from lakeside where you can go to watch sunrise or sunsets. Peaks of the Himalayas range including Dhawalagiri, Annapurna I and Machhapuchhre can be seen clearly on a clean day. You can also go paragliding here. Cafes, restaurants, and bars are some places you can go to your leisure and try new food, enjoy live music and chill.
