Langtang Gosainkunda Lake Trek Package With Itinerary

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek lies in a remote and picturesque valley of the Langtang region and has everything to offer. With diverse landscapes, wildlife, jungle, lakes, and culture, etc., you will be in constant amazement. The view of the lofty mountains and beautiful lakes attracts trekkers all over the world. The area offers a wide range of landscapes, from high snow-capped mountains to low river valleys and lively forests. The presence of the Gosaikunda Lake and other lakes takes the beauty of the Langtang region to a whole new level. 

This region is inhabited by Sherpa and Tamang communities. Gosainkunda Lake is one of the most famous religious sites of Nepal for Hindu pilgrims. Many devotees come here to visit every year. This region has many unique Buddhist festivals as well. So, Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is a gem for cultural exploration as well. 

Langtang National Park is home to many snow-capped mountains and tropical jungles. Vantage points, like Tsergo Ri, offer wonderful views of Langtang Lirung, Ghangchhempo, Yala Peak, Morimoto peak, Pogen Dhopku, and more. Apart from these mountains, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna range can also be seen along the way. The view of the Gosainkunda, Saraswatikunda, and Ganeshkuna surrounded by rocky mountains is one of the amazing views to behold. Apart from landscapes and lakes, you can explore much wildlife in their natural habitats. You will reach several incredible viewpoints, from where the wonderful views of the surrounding can be seen. 

Itineraries

First Day

Day 1:Arrive at Kathmandu Airport

• Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel
• Height: 1345 m
As you arrive in Nepal, you will see one of our crews with your name on our signboard waiting for you. You will then be dropped to a 3-star hotel where you can rest, freshen up or prepare for your trek. You can also stroll around the city to try what it has to offer you. Thamel is a tourist hub and you can find at least one activity that you can enjoy. You can go to spas, bars, restaurants etc. You will stay overnight at the same hotel.

Second Day

Day 2:Sightseeing in Kathmandu

• Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel
• Height: 1345 m
You will be visiting 5 of the UNESCO world heritage sights on this day. You will have breakfast early in the morning and set off to explore Kathmandu city. Our private vehicle will come to pick you up at your Hotel and take you to these historical sites such as Swayambhunath stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Boudhanath stupa, Pasupati temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Apart from these, you can visit the Pokharis, temples and many other monuments. Besides, you can shop the trekking essentials. You will be given a tour briefing in the evening and you can take a rest in your Hotel after that.

Third Day

Day 3:Bus Ride from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 8-9 hours
• Height: 1503 m
You will have breakfast early in the Hotel and set off to Syabrubesi. You will have a scenic ride of almost 8-9 hours to get there. You will be riding along the bank of Trishuli River, between the landscapes covered with green forests. You will get to enjoy these beautiful river valleys, landscapes and the mountains along the way. You will pass through many picturesque villages. You will get the beautiful panorama of the mountain range along the way. When you reach Syabrubesi, you will spend your night there at a tea house.

Fourth Day

Day 4:Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 6-7 hours
• Height: 2480 m
You will walk along the Langtang River and walk towards Ghoda Tabela. You will follow the trail of Ghumanchechowk which is covered with Rhododendron and Oak forests. You will descend uphill to reach a valley, Then You will continue ascending and descending the trek a few more times. After walking for about 6-7 hours you will reach Lama Hotel. You will have to cross a small bridge and ascend the steep trail to get there. You will stay overnight at a tea house in Lama Hotel.

Fifth Day

Day 5:Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 6-7 hours
• Height: 3480 m
You will be trekking to Langtang village on the fifth day of your trekking journey. You will walk along the Langtang river crossing the Ghoda Tabela and Yak pasture lands. You will have your lunch at Ghodatabela and ascend further to get to Langtang village. You will get the mesmerizing view of the grassland and Langtang range along the way. Langtang is a wonderful village situated between the mountains and glaciers. Tamang and Tibetan Sherpas reside there. You will stay overnight at this beautiful village in a tea house run by locals.

Sixth Day

Day 6:Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 3-4 hours
• Height: 3830 m
Today, you will have a short trek to Kyanjin Gompa from Langtang village. You will cross the village like Muna and Singdun along the way. Cross the bridge and trek the rocky trail to get there. You can spend the rest of your day exploring the village, traditional and cultural aspects of the people who reside there. You can stroll around the village and nearby places to enjoy the serene environment of the surroundings. You will stay overnight at a tea house there.

Seventh Day

Day 7:Kyanjin Gompa to Tsergo Ri (4984 m) and return back

• Height: 3830 m
You will take some rest for acclimatization on the 7th day of your trekking journey. As you will have crossed 3000 m of elevation, your body needs time to adapt to this rapidly changing altitude and decreasing atmospheric pressure. To reduce the risk of altitude sickness, you will spend a day acclimatizing. However, you can trek to nearby amazing places. You can to Tsergo Ri to get a wonderful view of mountains such as Langtang Lirung, Ghangchhempo, Yala Peak, Morimoto peak, Pogen Dhopku, etc. You can enjoy the mesmerizing view of Sunrise if you hike early in the morning.
You can visit Kyanjing Gompa where the centuries-old painting is kept. You will spend the night here.

Eighth Day

Day 8:Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 6-7 hours
• Height: 2480 m
After exploring the beautiful Kyanjin Gompa village, you will descend back to Lama Hotel following the same trail. can enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains, green forest and landscapes along the way. You will walk along the Langtang Khola passing through many Tamang settlements. You will stay overnight at Lama Hotel.

Ninth Day

Day 9:Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 5-6 hours
• Height: 2230 m
You will ascend uphill for a few hours to get to Rimche. Then you will descend downhill to reach Langtang river. Then you will follow an almost flat terrain to get to Bamboo. You will cross then cross a bridge and ascend uphill to reach Thulo Syabru crossing the villages and waterfalls along the way. You will spend the night at a tea house in Thulo Syabru.

Tenth Day

Day 10:Thulo Syabru to Shin Gompa

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 3-4 hours
• Height: 3330 m
You will trek straight uphill to get to Shin Gompa. The trail is covered with Rhododendron forest. It will take only 3-4 hours to get there. So you will be spending the rest of your day roaming around the village. Along the way, you will encounter a Cheese factory where you can taste some Cheese. You will pass through the villages like Garta and Phulung monastery. You will spend the night at a tea house in Shin Gompa.

Eleventh Day

Day 11:Trek from Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 5-6 hours
• Height: 4480 m
You will set off for Gosainkunda after having breakfast at Shin Gompa. You will trek uphill to reach Laure Bina. You can enjoy the spectacular view of mountains such as Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh and Langtang and the Tibetan plateau. Walking the rocky trail further, you will reach Gosaikunda which is a beautiful glacier lake. It holds a lot of religious significance for Hindus and Buddhist. Many devotees come here every year. You will stay overnight in a tea house in Gosaikunda.

Twelfth Day

Day 12:Trek from Gosaikunda to Ghopte

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 3-4 hours
• Height: 3530 m
You will head out to Ghopte from Gosainkunda on the 12th day of your trekking journey. You ascend the trail first to cross the Laurebina La Pass (4610 m) which is the highest elevation you reach during the trek. You can have an incredible view of the mountains and the surrounding landscapes from the pass. You will descend down the rocky trail from the pass to get to Ghopte. The trail is covered with green forests. It takes about 3 hours to get to Ghopte village. You will encounter small lakes along the way.

Thirteenth Day

Day 13:Trek from Gopte to Mangengoth

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 3-4 hours
• Height: 3390 m
You will have your breakfast at Ghopte and trek towards Mangengoth. You will descend down the ridge covered with Rhododendron forests. Walking for a few hours, you will reach Tharepati. You can take a rest for a while there. Then you will descend further down the trail to get to Mangeengoth. You can see the beautiful Helambu valley and the mountains along the way. You will stay overnight at a tea house in Mangengoth.

Fourteenth Day

Day 14:Trek from Mangengoth to Gulphu Bhanjyang

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 5-6 hours
• Height: 2130 m
After having breakfast at Mangengoth, you will start trekking towards Golphu Bhanjyang. You will trek down the trail covered with forest. It is considered to be a relatively easy trail. Along the way, you will get a beautiful view of the mountains and surrounding landscapes. Walking for a few hours, you will reach Kutumasang where you will cross a pass. Then you descend further down to the Gulphu Bhanjuang village. You can catch a glimpse of Mt. Annapurna and Manaslu from here. You will stay overnight at a tea house run by local Tamang people.

Fifteenth Day

Day 15:Trek from Gulphu Bhanjyang to Chisapani

• Accommodation: Tea House
• Trek Hours: 6-7 hours
• Height: 2230 m
You will descend down the trail to reach Pati Bhanjyang from Gulphu Bhanjyang. Crossing Pati Bhanjyang, you will descend further down and then ascend uphill to get to the beautiful village Chisapani. It is a beautiful vantage point to behold the surrounding landscape and the Himalayas. It is one of the most popular short trek destinations as well. You can visit the Hindu Temple situated in Chisapani. You will stay overnight at a tea house there

Sixteenth Day

Day 16:Trek from Chisapani to Sundarijal and drive to Kathmandu

• Accommodation: 3-Star Hotel
• Trek Hours: 3-4 hours + 1 hour
• Height: 1345 m
You will have your breakfast at Chisapani and set off for Sundarijal. You will descend down the gentle trail covered in green forests. You will pass through beautiful rice fields and villages to reach Sundarijal. It takes about 3-4 hours to get there. From Sundarijal you will ride to reach Kathmandu. You can spend the rest of your day roaming around the streets of Thamel and places nearby, You can buy souvenirs and handicrafts, explore restaurants and cafes, etc. You will enjoy the farewell dinner organized by Sublime Trails accompanied by different cultural programs. You will stay overnight at a 3-star hotel.

Seventeenth Day

Day 17:Departure

Your trip concludes here. We drive you to the airport for your connecting flight to the next destination and wish you goodbye. However, if you decide to stay in Nepal or travel to another destination you can inform us. We will be happy to help you out with your next trip.Besides, if you need any help choosing the destination we can help you with that as well. We provide you with unbiased information regarding all the packages available in Nepal.

Yes, you can take shower during the Mardi Himal Trek. The teahouses you will be staying let you have a hot shower as well. However, you have to pay an extra price for that.

Yes, cell phone and internet work during the trek. The network coverage might be weak in some places but it works nevertheless. You can use the internet service provided by Nepal Telecom and Ncell. The teahouse provides you with the charging service but you have to pay an extra price for that. In peak seasons there might even be a long queue to charge the batteries.

No, ATM machines are not available on the way. So, you should carry enough cash while trekking, especially if you plan on buying snacks or handicrafts along the way. It is better to carry Nepali rupees.

Yes, Helicopter pickups are available from Gosainkunda. If you have to return fast or are not able to trek further, you can request for a helicopter pick up. However, the price of the package will be changed accordingly.
