Manaslu Circuit Trek is not difficult, but it involves steep climb for some hours, which is natural on Himalayan landscapes with much ups and downhill.
Where most trekkers are well prepared for this kind of terrain, the only hardest and tough day is crossing over Larke-La Pass, a steep climb with long descend.

A tiring day for just one day, rest of the walk is moderate of 5 to 6 hours, the longest walks is on crossing over a pass to Bhimthang of more than 8 hours.

It is less of two week duration walks, but with drives both ways makes up to 14 days as per our standard itinerary. Which includes rest day for acclimatization and to explore around this beautiful Manaslu valley.

Without guide you cannot enter upper Manaslu region, as it is a restricted area where all trekkers needs to book with local agents, accompanied by guide and porters which is necessary on this trek to Manaslu.

Once you are booked with local agents in Kathmandu, like Trekking Planner the trek is based on tea-house / lodge trek, no need to carry tents or camping gear.

As for mattress it is provided by the lodge, however one can carry a thermal inflatable light mattress for your own extra comfort.

Most places till Sama-Gaon and at Samdu, with hydroelectricity power, where some places like Dyang and Dharmasala have solar power, which you can charge your electronic gadgets on paying a fee for charging each items, as per the lodge rules.

Most large main villages do have Wi Fi available, till Samdo rest is at Dharapani on the last overnight stop of the trek.

When you book with Trekking Planner all accommodation and meals are included, the only extra expenses is personal, how you spend it like for drinking water, soft drinks or snacks as well for hot shower, which is at extra cost. Including your interest on buying souvenirs. One can carry local currencies equivalent to
US$ 100 to 200, it should be in smaller bills as in villages it is hard to change bigger bills. You can exchange the money while you are in Kathmandu, or at Besisar on the end of the trek. As there are no banks and ATM, on this trek maybe it will happen in near future like at Jagat, Lo-Gaon or Dharapani villages.
Sometimes the lodge owner might exchange the money if necessary.

March to May and September to early November months, from mid-November most village and lodge will be closed, as they migrate to lower warm area to escape the winter cold.

You can store at the hotel or with Trekking Planner for safe keeping as well some valuable which you do not need on trek.

There are various types of symptoms of altitude sickness or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness), the main normal are headache, nausea, lack of appetite and sound sleep. For severe AMS one needs to be brought down or immediate evacuation by any means of fast transportation.

Important to have travel and medical insurance, for your own safety and to be on the safe side, one never knows of unfortunate incidence that might occur.

Not possible, as mentioned above one must join a proper reliable local company like Trekking Planner where you will be trekking with guide and porters.

Your guide will provide safe drinking water in every overnight and lunch stops, it is not safe to drink from water spout, taps. It must be treated with purify tabs or liquid like iodine. One can buy from the lodge boiled and filtered drinking water which is very safe. To buy bottle water can be quite expensive as you reach higher villages, since we are committed to Eco-Trekking or Responsible Tourism where plastic bottled water creates extra waste, unless it can be re-cycled.
