A short trekking nearby Kathmandu valley, Helambu trekking trail is about 72 km northeast of Kathmandu. We begin our short trekking experience in this valley of rich natural, cultural and geographical heritages from Sundarijal, a settlement at an hour drive from Kathmandu. Ascending along the stone stairs and through the dense forest of oak, rhododendron, and pine, watersheds, we reach to the ridge of Burlang Bhnajyang for magnificent views of the mountain ranges. Through the scenic grandeur we traverse through villages of Chisapani, a village on the cross-section of a ridge and famous for breathtaking sunrise and sunset over the Himalayan vistas, and then head on through Tamang villages of Pati Bhanjyang, Gul Bhanjyang, Tharepati before reaching on to Melamchi Gaun.

Crossing the Melamchi River we ascent to the villages of Tarke Ghyang after a long climb and then to other villages of Sermathang through smaller settlements. Dropping down the trail to Melamchi Pul through valley ridge, the past number of waterfalls and streams, we then reach Kakani before driving back to Kathmandu for ending the adventure. Intermittently, we shall witness marvelous views of snowcapped peaks such as Jugal Himal, Gauri Shankar, Gosaikunda, Numbur Peak beside the dominating Langtang Lirung Peak, rural settlements, traditional lifestyle and culture of Tamang community, and grassy downs and meadows strewn with daisies and wild premolars.
