The EBC Trekking And Chitwan Safari provides with standard Itinerary days where some days walks can be shorter or longer as per your physical fitness, some designated overnight stops can change, due to available rooms and other facilities and etc…….
 
We will follow the itinerary if its need to be changes in case of weather, landslides and difficulties on walks requiring more days where our leader and lead head guides decides holding full authority for Royal Nepal Group.
 

Climate and Weather-Everest Base Camp Trekking And Chitwan Safari:

Himalayan climate can be unpredictable sometimes even in good best seasons, where April and May to first week of June will be the best time during spring times, when days are longer with enough sunlight hours.
 
Morning and nighttime as well in shade can be cold and much freezing temperatures around higher areas above 3,000 m.
 
Other months from September to November another great times for treks around Kanchenjunga base camp and other areas of Himalaya, when days are clear for views and to summit the top of the peak, although much colder months of autumn season with extreme cold during morning and night time, where sunlight is much shorter.
 

Best Seasons for 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trekking And 3 Days Chitwan Safari:

Everest Base Camp short Trek can be done nearly all months of the year. However, the best time is from March to May, in spring season, and from mid- September till December, months during autumn and pre-winter season.
 
March to May is lovely time with enough day lights and sunshine. When high hills with forest of tall trees and bush of rhododendron will be in full bloom with other wildflowers, make this trek more interesting and special.
 
Most days are clear from morning till late afternoon, can get cloudy sometimes with chance of snows around higher elevation, cold in the morning and nighttime (not adding extra wind-chill factors).
 
Mid-September to December during autumn / fall season where most days are crystal clear from morning till mid afternoon but with short day lights, much colder and freezing temperatures in the morning and night as well in shades, away from sun lights (not adding extra wind-chill factors).
 
Some people might be interested to trek during low season of wet monsoon. Most days are cloudy that obstructs views of peaks, encountering less and few numbers of trekkers during rainy season of Mid
 
June till Mid-September, but very lush and greens with enough moistures that supports with more oxygen to help acclimatization, days are longer with sunlight due to summer and monsoon season around Nepal and other Himalayan destinations much warmer than other seasons of spring and autumn.

Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu 1,350 m / 4,450 ft and transfer to Hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu international airport via respective airlines, where you will be received by our office staff and guide with warm welcome then transfer to your hotels in the hub of the city.

After checking into your rooms and getting refreshed join the other groups for briefing on Everest Base Camp and Wild-Life Safari Adventure, our guide offers you with useful important information regarding trek and your stay in Nepal with us.

Evening includes welcome dinner in a nice and authentic Nepalese restaurant with Folk Culture program of Nepal while having your dinner.

Day 2

Fly to Lukla 2,850 m / 9,350 ft - 35 mins, trek to Phakding 2,650 m / 8,690ft- 03 hrs

Starting early morning transfer to domestic airport for short and scenic flight to Lukla, taking a smaller aircraft (Twin Otter or Dornier) during 30 minutes on air with amazing panorama of Himalayan series of peaks with Mt. Everest, as the plane lands on its unique uphill runways reaching at Tenzing & Hillary airport in Lukla.

From here a slow start with few hours of walks on downhill past many Sherpa farm villages with well tended crops and vegetable fields and terraces with occasional views of snow capped peaks of Kwangde and Kusum Khanguru, and then reaching our first overnight stop of the trek at Phakding in the comfort of nice and cozy lodge located by the raging Dudh Kosi River.

Day 3

Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m / 11,285 ft- 06 hrs.

Today facing long uphill to reach famous Namche Bazaar, starting with gradual walks following Dudh Kosi River upstream and crossing few bridges to reach Sagarmatha National Park entrance near Monjo village.

Sagarmatha for Everest in Nepalese while Sherpa calls Chomolungma (of Tibetan origin) in both languages means ‘Great Mother’, from here a pleasant walk on river bed then climb for few hours into forested trail with views of snow capped peaks, as this scenic walk reaches you at exciting Namche Bazaar.

Day 4

Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and local excursion.

A rest day at Namche Bazaar for necessary acclimatization, before heading higher area an ideal spot for free day at this height above 3,440 m high.

In Namche spend the day with scenic hike to view points on top Namche facing Mt. Everest-Amadablam and other range of peaks, afternoon explore the streets and shops, Namche holds a colorful and busy Saturday Market once a week.

Day 5

Trek to Thyangboche Monastery 3,867 m / 12, 870 ft - 05 hrs.

From Namche walk leads on gradual scenic path with downhill to Imjatse River at Phunge-Tenga for lunch, afternoon uphill climb into rhododendron, pines, fir forest with grand views of snowcapped peaks.

After few hours of climb reaching at Thyangboche Monastery, enjoy marvelous views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Khangtiaga, Thermasarkhu, Kwangde with magnificent Amadablam, afternoon with time to visit its interesting monastery and observe monks and priest on prayer.

Day 6

Trek to Dingboche 4,360 m / 14,290 ft - 05 hrs.

Morning on downhill for an hour towards Imjatse River, after crossing a bridge walking into an open country where tree lines stops for few short juniper and rhododendron bushes, uphill for a while to reach at Pangboche village at 3,900 meters.

A last permanent village before Dingboche and beyond, from here a slow climb to Somara for lunch and continue walk with climb to Dingboche village for overnight stop, located within scenic Imjatse valley with excellent views of Amadablam and Island Peak.

Day 7

Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.

A rest day for proper acclimatization here a short hike up to Nakarjung hills for better views of surrounding peaks with Mt. Makalu towards east adjoining.

For some energetic people optional walk to Chukung at 4,760 m high, a small settlement within Imjatse valley offers incredible views of Island Peak, Lhotse Shar, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam.

Day 8

Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m / 16,175 ft -05 hrs.

After a nice, pleasant stop at Dingboche, morning walk lead to short climb facing excellent views, and then walk on gradual scenic trail to Thugla for lunch, this is where massive Khumbu glacier melts into a raging river.

From here trail Pheriche and Dingboche trail joins towards Everest Base Camp, after a break a steep climb for an hour to Thugla pass, witness stone memorials of unfortunate climbers who died climbing on Mt. Everest, Lhotse or other high mountains. From here a nice walk to Lobuche for overnight stop.

Day 9

Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m / 17,598 ft back to Gorakshep 5,185 m /17,010 ft approx: 6 to 8 hrs both ways after Lobuche and Gorakshep.

Today our adventure takes you at Everest Base Camp our main goal and highlight of the trip walking for few hours with short steep climb in between glacier and moraine, then reaching at Gorakshep, beneath lofty peak of Pumori and Kalapathar rocky hill.

Walk continues towards Everest base camp, at base camp enjoy views of massive Khumbu Ice Fall and glaciers, after an exciting time with experience of a lifetime retrace the journey back to Gorakshep for overnight stop.

Day 10

Hike to Kala Patthar 5,545 m / 18.208 ft trek to Pheriche 4,250 m / 13.945ft - 05 hrs.

Early morning climb on top Kalapathar at above 5,545 m, our highest point of the adventure with magnificent views of mountains includes Mt. Everest at close distance, after a great time on top descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk to Thugla, from here downhill to Pheriche around windy valley with nice scenic walk to Pheriche for possible lunch stop.

Pheriche houses many lodges with a health post and a station of HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association). From here another few hours of good walk reaches you at Pangboche village for overnight halt.

Day 11

Trek to Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs walks.

Walk leads on same route from Pangboche to reach scenic Thyangboche Monastery, allowing you with more time on this beautiful spot to explore its interesting monastery and observe monks and priest on prayer chanting in the harmony of tranquil surrounding of green woodland and mountain views.

From Thyangboche walk downhill with short up to reach at Namche Bazaar with grand views of Everest and Amadablam includes other close peaks then reaching at Namche for overnight stop after a pleasant walk of short ups and downs.

Day `12

Trek to Lukla via Monjo and Phakding - 06 hrs.

Our last day walk of the adventure, morning starts with long descend towards Sagarmatha National Park entrance at Monjo village and then crossing a long bridge to reach at Phakding.

From Phakding towards Lukla as walk leads ups and downhill with last climb of an hour to reach at Lukla for last overnight stop in Khumbu and Everest region.

Day 13

Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

From Lukla an early morning flight to Kathmandu with panorama of mountains views all the way to Kathmandu, at Kathmandu domestic airport our staff transfers you back into your hotel with free afternoon to relax after a great and wonderful time on Everest Base Camp Trekking.

Day 14

Drive to Chitwan 820 m / 2,690 ft approx: 06 hrs.

Morning an exciting overland drive on main Kathmandu highway to Chitwan, leading through Himalayan foothills, on reaching Tadi Bazaar at Chitwan where short drive leads you to your respective hotels at town of Saura.

On arrival at Chitwan near the park premises where most of nice hotels are located, after checking in to your rooms then hotel manager or naturalist briefs you with jungle activities and programs.

Afternoon activity with short walk to Tharu village, an indigenous tribe of Terai belt low flatland of Nepal. Evening enjoy the dinner with fascinating Tharu cultural dance.

Day 15

Full day Jungle programs with wild-life activities.

Program and activities starts early before breakfast, walk to elephant platform for ride on elephant backs leads you into dense jungle to observe some wildlife in their own natural habitat. Other activities include visits of elephant stables and elephant bathing and briefing. After lunch drive into the jungles as well ride on a dug-out canoe floating on Rapti River where you can see fresh water Gangetic Gharial and Mugger crocodiles, if lucky including fresh water dolphins, and otters.

Other Jungle activities:

Morning Bird Watch Tour, Machan (Watch Tower) Tour, Jungle walks, nature walks, elephant and jeep safari with elephant briefing and bathing elephants include more with entertainment of local Tharu cultural programs.

Day 16

Morning nature program and drive to Kathmandu - 06 hrs journey.

Morning starts with birds watch program or nature walks where you can witness wide range of exotic bird life from local residential to migratory birds with ducks and egrets, after breakfast drive back to Kathmandu afternoon free with evening farewell dinner includes Nepalese cultural show.

Day 17

International departure for home ward bound

After a great and wonderful experience in Nepal with amazing time in high Himalayan mountains with exciting adventure on EBC Trekking And Chitwan Safari, and with last day in Nepal, our staff or guide transfer you to airport for your flight homeward bound or to next port of call.

    • Personal travel and health Insurance, Insurance for helicopter evacuation (An Helicopter rescue insurance is highly recommended. If you have any problem and you have to be evacuated, without your insurance you have to pay the helicopter in cash.)
    • In case of extra more nights accommodation, lunch and dinner in the city due to early arrival and late departure as well as early back/return from mountain/trekking (due to any reason) than the given time period of the itinerary
    • Your Personal expenses such as ( laundry, phone calls, bar and beverage bill, boiled or bottled water {it will cost between $1 and $3 a bottle (it gets more expensive towards base camp).}, extra porter.. etc)
    • Wi-Fi, charging batteries and hot showers. Wi-Fi is available in some tea houses for $3 to $5 an hour. Hot Showers are also available in a few for around $3 and charging costs about $1.50 an hour.
