On the whole, this pleasant itinerary from Pokhara to Dhampus, and on to Pothana and the Australian Camp, will provide you with a most enjoyable day trip.

After breakfast, drive to Phedi and start the hike through beautiful countryside villages, lush forests and farming terraces to get to Dhampus .Dhampus is a beautiful village and a scenic view point to see the Machhapuchhare and Annapurna range.

Continue trekking to Kande and then take the 40 minute drive back to Pokhara. This hike includes rural cultural activities, fascinating ethnic groups and magnificent mountain views.

The highlight of the Dhampus village tour is something far greater the splendid views of the Annapurna range :Annapurna I (8,091m.) Annapurna II (7,937m.) Annapurna IV (7,525m.) and Dhaulagiri the 7th highest peak in the world at 8,167 m. and Manaslu the 8th highest at 8,156 m.

You might think that just being able to see these magnificent mountains is a blessing. However, there’s more. You’ll also be able to see Hiunchuli (6,441m.) Lamjung Himal (6,586m.) Machhapucchre (6,993m.) and Ganesh Himal (7,446m.) Towering Himalayan peaks are best viewed at sunrise and the village also gives you a good opportunity to experience the lifestyle of the locals and partake of their generous hospitality.
