The Royal Trek in Nepal is a short and easy trek from Pokhara that offers magnificent views of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu. This trek is named as it was trekked by Prince Charles in the 1980s. It’s highly recommended for beginners, families, and anybody on a short holiday.

Day 01 :

Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuwan International Airport, you’ll be greeted by a representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can either rest or explore nearby tourist areas like Thamel, where you can enjoy shopping or try Nepali cuisine. In the evening, a pre-trek briefing will take place, providing you with important information for the days ahead.

Day 02 :

Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour

Today, you’ll explore the cultural and historical landmarks of Kathmandu. The sightseeing tour will cover some of the city’s most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including:

Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples.
Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in Nepal.
Kathmandu Durbar Square, a historical complex with ancient palaces and temples.
Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), offering panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley.
In the evening, return to the hotel for preparation and an overnight stay.

Day 03 :

Drive to Pokhara (910 m) by Tourist Bus (6-7 hours)

Early in the morning, you’ll take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a city renowned for its lakes and mountain views. The journey takes around 6-7 hours, passing through picturesque countryside, terraced fields, and small towns. Upon reaching Pokhara, you’ll check in at the hotel and have time to explore Phewa Lake and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of this lakeside city.

Day 04 :

Pokhara to Kalikasthan (1,370m/4,493ft) (1-hour drive, 5-hour trek)

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Bijayapur Khola, the starting point of the trek. From there, you will begin your hike to Kalikasthan, ascending through terraced fields and small villages. Along the way, you’ll pass through dense rhododendron forests and be treated to distant views of the Himalayas. After 5 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at Kalikasthan, where you will rest for the night.

Day 05 :

Kalikasthan to Syaklung (1,730m/5,674ft) (5-6 hours trek)

Today’s trek will take you through charming villages and lush forests to reach Syaklung. The trail meanders through mixed landscapes of terraced farmland, traditional houses, and vibrant flora. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with local villagers, gaining insights into their lifestyle. As you trek, enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna, Manaslu, and Lamjung Himal. After 5-6 hours, you’ll arrive at Syaklung for an overnight stay.

Day 06 :

Syaklung to Chisapani (1,550m/5,054ft) (5-6 hours trek)

The trail today descends and passes through several small settlements before ascending towards Chisapani. This day’s trek offers a unique blend of cultural and natural experiences, with ample opportunities to observe daily life in rural Nepal. As you approach Chisapani, the views of the mountains become even more impressive. You’ll spend the night at a lodge in Chisapani, where you can relax after 5-6 hours of trekking.

Day 07 :

Chisapani to Pokhara

After breakfast, you’ll begin the descent from Chisapani. The trail winds through scenic hills and farmlands, eventually leading back to Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara, you’ll have the rest of the day to relax or explore the city. You may choose to visit local attractions like the World Peace Pagoda, or enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Phewa Lake.

Day 08 :

Pokhara to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you’ll drive back to Kathmandu. The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours, offering you one last chance to enjoy the scenic countryside of Nepal. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you can enjoy some free time to shop for souvenirs or visit any places you may have missed earlier in the trip.

Day 09 :

Final Departure or Onward Destination

On your final day, you’ll be transferred to Tribhuwan International Airport for your onward flight or next destination. If you plan to explore other parts of Nepal, such as Chitwan National Park or Everest Base Camp, this can be arranged as well.
